This input field would solve these problems because you can type your birth date right into the input field, and then it will simultaneously display below the date that you’ve selected. So if you thought you were inputting the 1st of October, but the calendar shows the 8th of January, then you know that your input is incorrect.

I could probably make it more explicit in my example that you can type here, but that is undoubtedly a necessary component to making it work effectively.
